St. Augustine Alumni, an association of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was created after the celebration of Founders Day on January 5, 2020, the vision of the Clay-St. Johns County Alumni was shared by Brother Reginald Robinson with Brother Roger Davis. The vision was to ensure that all Northeast Florida knew Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated is here, specifically during Founders Day celebration. Brother Robinson also had conversations with Brother Collie Buchanan about this vision and his prophyte gave him more to consider with this vision. Shortly after, Brother Robinson reached out to Brothers Charles Frazier (Ft. Pierce Alumni Polemarch), Brian Mock (Sr. Vice Polemarch of the Southeastern Province), and Brannon Jones (Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Polemarch), Delta Xi Chapter Alumni, to get further guidance on the process of initiating for a charter of a new chapter. After meetings with the Sr. Grand Vice Polemarch of the 33rd Administration, Brother Linnes Finney, Jr. and Tenth Southern Province Polemarch, Brother Bertrum K. Orum, this vision was shared with Brothers Willie Weaver, Brandon Porter, Kevin Frances, and Rick Berry. After further discussions, it was agreed to move forward with establishing the Clay-St. Johns County Steering Committee. The initial meeting took place at the residence of Brother Roger Davis, 1715 Doloma Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The meeting was in the form of a fellowship and business meeting to follow up on the path forward to establishing a new branch of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc. in Clay and St. Johns County, FL. Brother Berry advised to change the name of the steering committee because alumni chapters are established by city names versus counties. Brother Charles Mitchell and all the brothers previously mentioned, were in attendance, with the exception of Brother Frances . Soon after, Brother Robert Walker joined the brothers in their effort to charter a new alumni chapter. Brother Walker used his connections with the Grand Polemarch of the 33rd Administration, Thomas L. Battles, Jr., to provide further guidance on how to move forward.

From discussions with the Tenth Southern Province Polemarch, Brother Bertrum K. Orum, it was emphasized that all involved in this endeavor had to be in financial good standing with International Headquarters, and there had to be a minimum of 10 active members to start. The purpose of this new Chapter would align with the founding goals of achievement, brotherhood, altruism, true manliness, and the other established pursuits of our great fraternity. Another important aim for brothers is Reclamation. With this in mind, Brother Robinson along with Brother Davis reviewed a list of inactive brothers in the north Florida area and felt this would be a great place to start the reclamation efforts. There was then an effort to extend those brothers an olive branch to hopefully provide a viable option to return to active membership. Brothers Leo Armbrister, William Wilson, Kenny Hamilton, Tony Bunion, James Matthews, Shaun Nelson, Rembrandt Moses, Ryan Felder, Renardo Boyd, Wayne Gallman, Kenneth Givens, Darren Barton, and Marc Hicks were added to the fold along the way.

After continued discussions and brainstorming amongst the brothers and Province leadership, the Orange Park-St. Augustine steering committee changed its name to St. Augustine Alumni steering committee and presented its petition to the 12th Southern Province Polemarch, Brother Jason Jones. The Grand Board approved Southern Province Polemarch’s recommendation for the establishment of the St. Augustine Alumni Association on May 23, 2023 in Tampa, Florida.
